Unique and spacious Canadian oak post and beam country house with self-contained traditional cottage attached, and a deatched studio apartment. Dynamic and truly breathtaking views across the entire Derryveagh mountain range, including Mount Earagail and Muckish. We are only 4 miles from the stunning Wild Atlantic Way coast and beaches. Magnificent walks and cycle paths from outside our door, including the new Burtonport Railway Walk.

This beautiful oak post and beam country house is sandwiched between the Derryveagh mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean in Donegal and is just 20 minutes drive from the Glenveagh National Park, with its castle, lake and golden eagle colony. The local beaches are stunning and offer swimming, sailing, kayaking and surfing opportunities.

Our eco-friendly property is constructed with a large open plan living space with cathedral height ceiling framed by oak posts and beams, with all internal woodwork in solid Canadian oak, and extensive South-facing glazing offering bright, comfortable spacious accommodation with outstanding views across the fields to the mountains beyond. The house is ideal for summer and winter, as it is spacious and very warm, with a new air-to-water underfloor heating system installed..

The main property has two additional self-contained dwellings - a traditional Irish stone cottage, connected by an adjoining door, to the main house, but can be kept separate; and a converted studio apartment, which can serve as an office. The whole property is on a 10-acre site with the Tullaghobegly River on one boundary and our own 8-acre turf bog on the other. It is completely private, surrounded by hundreds of semi-mature trees, planted 20 years ago.

This is an ideal home for a large family, or a home and office for a work-from-home family, or as a going-concern investment, generating an income, through Airbnb. It is a perfect property for relaxing in a beautiful sun-drenched house, or getting out and enjoying the great outdoors - surfing, mountain walks, horse-riding, fishing - there is something for everyone around us. A new 30km walk has just opened (a little like the Greenway in Co Mayo) and the walk passes along the railway line at the top of our property, making a stunning walk or cycling route for visitors. When fully completed it will be an over 60km walk from Creeslough to Burtonport

The 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom main house is connected to the traditional fully self-contained 1-bedroom cottage with its own living-room bathroom and kitchen. In a separate building behind the house, the studio has an open plan living/kitchen area, a separate bathroom, andf an upstairs bedroom

Our entire property is heated without oil, using underfloor heating powered by a combination of an air-to-water heat pump, solar panels, the passive solar gain from the South-facing glazing and a wood-fired stove. The cottage is also heated by the air-to-water heat system, a traditional Rayburn range, and a lovely little cast-iron stove. The studio is heated by Solar panels and underfloor heating, which can be supplemented by an oil boiler, which is in situ, but not often required.

2 acres of the 10 acre site are planted with over 1,000 indigenous trees, some of which are established now for 20 years. The Tullaghobegley river is on the property and forms one complete boundary of this idyllic rural site.
